GILGIT, June 29: Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly on Friday passed unanimously the budget 2012-13 with total outlay Rs1,939 billion after a brief discussion in the house.

Deputy Speaker Jamil Ahmed presided over the third day proceedings of the budget session of the house.

Chief Minister Syed Mehdi Shah repeated the budget speech already delivered by the Finance Minister Mohammad Ali Akhtar and numerated the achievements of the government. He said revenue officials would have a risk allowance and also announced to regularise all those employees who were working for past two years. Opposition leader Janbaz Khan blasted public works minister for inducting employees from backdoor. The Deputy Speaker Jamil Ahmed adjourned the session for an indefinite period after house passed the budget.
