LAHORE, June 27: Representatives of both public and private sector medical organisations and hospitals have announced joint agitation for ‘service structure’.

Presided over by PMA Punjab President Dr Mehr Muhammad Iqbal, the meeting was attended by office-bearers of several organisations including the Young Doctors Association, Pakistan.

The associations agreed to form a working group including presidents and general secretaries of all organisations, which would announce future strategy at a press conference on Thursday.Dr Mehr said achievement of service structure for doctors’ community was the priority of doctors and every step would be taken to achieve it.

Meanwhile, young doctors continued agitation on Wednesday by denying treatment to the patients at the outpatient departments. They also staged a sit-in outside Children’s Hospital to protest the delay in issuing notification of service structure.
