THIS is apropos of Rehman Malik’s protests over Afghan militant incursion. It is high time that Pakistan took up the issue of cross-border infiltration not only by Afghanistan but by India and some other countries as well as sponsoring the activity of miscreants in Quetta and Balochistan.

Some countries are deliberately trying to cause chaos in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan for their vested interests. Pakistani agencies with the cooperation of the people should be able to foil such plots causing severe crisis.

Pakistan has done more than enough in the war against terror and a number of soldiers and civilians alike have lost their lives. Yet some US officials are always telling us to ‘do more’. I would like to remind the US and its allies that when you point one finger towards someone four are pointed towards you. No one can vehemently deny the mistreatment of Dr Aafia Siddiqui. The US has concerns about restrictions on the movement of its diplomats but they should know that they are involved in spying like Raymond Davis.

In such a scenario, we are facing border violations and drone attacks which are killing innocent civilians. For the first time in Pakistan’s history the parliament has stepped forward and suggested to reassess relations with US. It is heart-warming to see our elected members pass the resolution with unanimity. Finally, sanity has prevailed regarding our foreign policy.

Pakistan does not want collision with any one, yet it cannot compromise on its national interests. Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has time and again reiterated Pakistan’s stance which is the stance of every Pakistani.
