KARACHI, June 27: Double Olympian Khurram Inam produced a spectacular show on Tuesday to record a big lead over fellow aspirant Ahmed Sultan at the end of second round of Olympic skeet shooting trials.

After low scores in the first round of trials on Saturday, Khurram picked his game and fired rounds of 23, 23, 25, 23 and 24 to muster a handsome score of 118/125 to record a clear eight-bird lead here at the Naval International Shooting Range.

Ahmed, who scored 111 to Khurram’s 110 in the first round, was not at his brilliant best scoring 22, 20, 23, 23 and 23 to end with score of 111 points.

After two rounds, Khurram got the total of 227 to Ahmed’s 219 after two rounds.

The final and deciding round will be held on Thursday. The shooter accumulating the highest overall total will earn the right to represent Pakistan in the London Olympics.—APP
