LAHORE, June 26: The Punjab government on Tuesday appointed Mian Abdullah, a senior official of the housing and physical planning department, as Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) managing director.

Officials told Dawn that prior to his appointment as Wasa MD, Mr Abdullah was serving as superintending engineer (public health engineering department) in Faisalabad.

They said two candidates were short-listed for their interview by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for the slot of Wasa head.

The chief minister had removed Dr Javaid Iqbal from the top Wasa post by suspending him for being responsible for delay in the on-going sewerage work at Allama Iqbal Road.

MEETING: Most of the issues between the LDA and Johar Town Property Dealers Association were resolved in a meeting held between the LDA officials and the association’s representatives.
