LAHORE, June 24: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday the state land is being retrieved from qabza mafia and being utilized for providing modern sports facilities to the youth.
He was presiding over a meeting regarding promotion of sports activities and projects of the Punjab Horticulture Authority at his Minar-i-Pakistan Tent office on Sunday, says a handout.
He said special attention was being paid to the promotion of sport activities in south Punjab.
Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan informed the meeting that a youth helpline would soon be set up with the collaboration of NGOs for providing counseling to the youth through experts in various sectors.
He said that a website had also been launched regarding playgrounds in the province where all details about these grounds had been provided.
He said that a state-of-the-art gymnasium was being constructed at Rajanpur where facilities pertaining to 17 different sports would be available.
He said that ground management committees had been constituted and representation had been given to NGOs and sponsors on these committees. He said that 4,300 sites had been identified for setting up playgrounds.
PLAINTS: The chief minister listened to the complaints of the people at the tent office and issued on-the-spot orders in certain cases.
