Karachi Eaglets capture cup

KARACHI, Dec 14: A dashing knock of 92 runs by Kashif Hanif, enabled Karachi Eaglets lift the All Karachi Karimuddin Memorial Colour Kit Ramazan Festival cricket tournament trophy, after beating Malir Sports by 81 runs at the Malir Raiders ground yesterday.

With Kashif in tremendous form with the willow, Karachi Eaglets hit up 229 for five wickets in their 20 allotted overs. Asim Cheema (38), Khurram Abbas (35) and Irfan Ali (33), also made useful contributions. Nizamuddin bagged two wickets for 38 runs.

Chasing 221 runs for victory, Malir Sports were restricted to 148 for nine wickets in their 20 allotted overs with Ather Kaleem (28) and Naved Zamer (24), among the runs.

M. Waheed three for 22 and Akhtar Hussain three for 30 bowled a fine line and length.

Kashif Hanif was declared the Man of the Match.

Mian Azmat Hussain, presented the winners trophy to Khurram Abbas and the runners-up trophy to Ather Kaleem.

Nizamuddin was declared the Player of the Tournament. M.Waheed (best batsman), Khurram Abbas (best bowler) and Ather Kaleem (best wicket-keeper).
