KHAIRPUR, Dec 14: Growers of five waterways continued protest against water shortage in Sobhodero on second consecutive day on Saturday.
More than 100 growers staged a sit-in and raised slogans against the irrigation officials of the area.
Later, they also staged sit in on Sobhodero-Ranipur road.
The land of the protesting farmers is fed by Mehrab Wah, Gurkano Wah, Setharja Shakh, Imam Shakh and Tekhno Wah.
ACCIDENT: Five persons were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in village Jamra near Gambat on Friday night.
Those injured were identified as Mohammad Hussain Gopang, Jamil Ahmed Pahtan, Javed Ahmed Khuhro, Madad Ali Sial and an unidentified woman.
DISMISSED: The DPO, Khairpur, dismissed on Saturday SHO, B-section, Ghulam Shabbir Jamali, and SHO, Ranipur, on public complaints.
