THE Punjab government spent billions of rupees on ‘Sasti Roti’ scheme that unfortunately did not yield anything.
Similarly almost a sum of Rs22 billion was spent on the laptop scheme but it is sad to see that schools in Punjab are in a poor state.
Many students are compelled to study in graveyards. The money wasted on the above-mentioned projects would have helped revolutionise the system of education in Punjab.

Excellent point. One which I always make. Why not reinvent the public educational system, offer scholarships to deserving students for higher education, improve water supply, the drainage system or countless other projects which ACTUALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Oh, I get it. It's not easy to make money when you spend on legitimate causes.

Well, sasti roti scheme was good move yet the management was corrupt. The people who are against this scheme need to come out from their ac rooms and go to the local small hotels. I don't know WHY we re-act when we don't try to find the ultimate truth. I met hundreds of people(poor class not YOU guys) who praised this scheme. But anyway, thank YOU guys for voice your concerns.

toilets, basic amenities are the crying needs of schools; but the politicians will throw money after such gimmicks to get publicity mileage; it is a curse in India also.
