Mehdi Hasan laid to rest

KARACHI: Mehdi Hasan, the maestro who revolutionised the art of Ghazal singing, was laid to rest in Karachi on Friday.

The funeral prayers were offered at the Noorani Mosque near Karachi’s Ancholi Area. Several dignitaries, political activists and his fans attended the funeral procession.

He was buried in the Shah Mohammad Shah graveyard located in North Karachi.

Mehdi Hasan was suffering from multiple ailments, including lung and chest infections. His condition worsened on Wednesday morning and he passed away the same day.
