Zia-Hamid take lead on first day

LAHORE, Dec 13: Ziaullah Baig and Hamid Mohiuddin from Karachi, have slight edge over Lahore’s Tahir Abbas- Fehmina Shauq, both pairs competing in the East-West Zone on the first day of the Balijee National Bridge Championship at the Lahore Gymkhana Friday.

Zia and partner Hamid achieved 61.90 percentage but they were closely chased by Tahir and Fehmina who mustered a percentage of 61.40. Such a close margin speaks the quality of the competition.

The third and the fourth positions were occupied by pairs from North-South. At third were the pair of Munir Ataullah-Shoaib Bokhari who got a percentage of 60.41 followed by Masud Saleem- Masood Mazhar who earned the percentage of 59.10.

In the ladies section, the pair of Fehmida-Tahira are leading with the score of 54.53 percent followed by Qudsia-Naseem Seher from Lahore.
