ISLAMABAD. Nov 20: The government has agreed that Nazims will be included in the process of selection of Mustahqeen (needy persons) of Zakat.

President General Pervez Musharraf agreed in principle Tuesday, to the request by the nazims from NWFP that they should be made part of the selection process for Zakat mustahqeen.

They made the demand during their meeting with Gen. Musharraf here. Similar demands were earlier made by nazims from Punjab and Sindh provinces during their meetings with the President.

The nazims of the provinces were of the view that inclusion of Nazims in the process of selection of Mustahqeen would bring about greater transparency in the disbursement of Zakat. — PPI
