Humayun to visit US next month

Published December 14, 2002

LAHORE, Dec 13: Federal Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar Khan will visit the United States from January 27, 2003, to have talks with US officials on the issues like enhanced market access for Pakistani products.

“The wide range of trade issues including the enhancement in quota for Pakistani products are likely to come under discussion during the visit,” Humayoon told newsmen at a local hotel on Friday evening.

He said that the visit was deferred for January due to Christmas holidays in USA. Answering a question regarding the flooding of Pakistani market with products of a neighbouring country, the minister said that the government could take notice of the situation only after receiving some complaint from the local industry or businessmen.—APP
