Saeed to play in Quaid Trophy

Published December 13, 2002

LAHORE, Dec 12: Discarded Pakistan opener Saeed Anwar is expected to represent National Bank as a guest player in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Cricket Championship

Saeed, who was surprisingly overlooked for tour of Zimbabwe and South Africa, practiced at the PCB Academy Ground here Thursday.

The left-hander was however named in the provisional list of 30 for the next year’s World Cup by the national selection committee.

Saeed intends to prove his form and fitness after skipping the recently concluded Super League Ramazan Cup cricket tournament despite having been invited by national selectors.

Saeed believes that a lot of cricket is still left in him and his  career was not over. He contended that he would justify his place in the World Cup squad on performance.
