KARACHI: Leaking water submerges roads

Published November 21, 2001

KARACHI, Nov 20: Water leaking from a pipeline’s valve, near Aligarh Colony, has been standing for the past two days all around Bacha Khan Chowk and on an adjacent road, leading to Pathan Colony.

The water being wasted from the leaking valve is creating water shortage in the nearby localities and also causing damage to the road on which it is standing.

An official of the Karachi Water and Sewrage Board confirmed that water had been leaking from a pipeline’s valve, and claimed that the leaking valve had been repaired on Monday.

However, the KWSB had not made arrangements for draining away the water that has collected on Bacha Khan Chowk and its adjacent road till Tuesday.
