LAHORE, May 30: Paramedics continued their agitation on Wednesday and staged a rally at Mayo Hospital for service structure and other demands.

Dozens of paramedics reached Mayo Hospital from other health facilities and staged a sit-in outside the hospital for three hours.

They raised slogans against the Punjab government and the health authorities for not considering their demands despite a three-week protest.

Earlier, the paramedics observed a three-hour strike at outdoor patients departments and diagnostic facilities of teaching hospitals and denied treatment to patients.

The paramedics have been protesting on the call of the Punjab Paramedics Alliance Class-IV for service structure, health professional allowance and regularisation of contract employees. The paramedics will stage a rally at Government Nawaz Sharif Hospital, Yakki Gate, on Thursday (today). — Staff Reporter
