QUETTA, May 30: A man belonging to the Hazara community was shot dead in the Joint road area on Wednesday evening and police described it as a case of targeted sectarian attack.

Ali Muhammad was passing through the Joint road area when men on a motorcycle opened fire. He suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot.

ROCKET ATTACK: A Frontier Corps check-post in Kohlu area came under rocket attack on Wednesday but four of the five rockets fired failed to hit the target. One rocket exploded near the check-post, injuring a security man.

The post and a vehicle were partially damaged in the attack.

A man introducing himself as the spokesman for the United Baloch Army and calling from an unknown place claimed that six security personnel had been killed and several others injured. He told media persons that a vehicle was gutted in the attack.
