HYDERABAD, Dec 12: The arrangements for conducting a massive operation against outlaws in the forest and Katcha areas of Hyderabad and Dadu districts were finalized at a meeting held here on Thursday.

The meeting was presided by the regional police officer, Hyderabad Region, AIG Abdul Rauf Yousufzai.

A police spokesman informed newsmen that a sufficient number of armoured personnel careers, bullet-proof vests, and weapons had been arranged for the personnel, who will participate in the operation.

He informed that these additional armoured personnel careers and bullet-proof vests were arranged from Karachi and other districts of Sindh.

It was learnt that the issue of logistics was discussed in the meeting because the police lacked a sufficient amount of modern equipment including wireless sets.

However, the details of the meeting were being closely guarded and none of the police officials was ready to disclose them.

They firmly believed that these details might be leaked out to the dacoits by none other than some low-ranking police personnel. The date of the operation could not be ascertained also.

It was learnt that the information regarding preparations for the operation would be shared only by some senior police officials to maintain its secrecy.

The operation has been planned after dacoits struck with full force and kidnapped a number of people.
