RAWALPINDI, May 29: The Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) on Tuesday retrieved two kanals from encroachers and removed 15 kiosks constructed on state land in Khyaban-i-Sir Syed.

The RTMA spokesman told Dawn that the anti-encroachment team on the directives of Rawal Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa launched operation in Khyaban-i-Sir Syed near dispensary ground and reclaimed two kanals of state land worth Rs20 million.

He said the kiosks were established on the ground seven months ago on the land of Housing and Physical Planning allocated for a post office and a dispensary.

He said the team requested the residents of the adjoining area to inform the RTMA if they found encroachment at the place
