PESHAWAR, May 29: Dr Murad Ali rejoined the University of Malakand after finishing his PhD in Development Studies from Massey University, New Zealand. Among over 60 HEC-funded scholars, Dr Mruad is the first Pakistani scholar to complete his doctorate from the Massey University.

The title of Dr Murad’s thesis is “The politics of development aid: the allocation and delivery of aid from the United States of America to Pakistan”.

According to a statement the thesis examined how politics has remained an integral part of the US foreign aid policy towards Pakistan. Dr Murad’s research explored that US aid to Pakistan can broadly be divided into three periods: the Cold War period, the post-Cold War period of the 1990s and the ‘war on terror’ period since 9/11. —Bureau Report
