QUETTA, May 28: Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti, chief of his own faction of Jamhoori Watan Party, criticised on Monday those who were demanding amnesty for Baloch activists fighting for their rights.

Addressing a press conference, he said that Baloch nationalist groups were struggling to achieve their rights and the use of ‘amnesty’ had distressed the Baloch people.

Nawabzada Bugti said that rulers and saner political parties must realise the gravity of the situation in Balochistan and resolve the contentious issues through talks.

He expressed resentment over the delaying tactics in arresting the killers of JWP founder Nawab Akbar Bugti.

He said that he could not understand why the government was hesitating to arrest those nominated in the case despite issuance of arrest warrants by the court in the Nawab Bugti case.

Nawabzada Bugti said that when the government could not even arrest the killers of his father then how could they believe that it was serious about settling the Balochistan issue.

He said the government was not facilitating the return of Bugti tribesmen who had moved to Punjab, Sindh and Afghanistan after an operation was launched in their home district.

Nawabzada Bugti demanded that all Bugti tribesmen should be allowed to return to Dera Bugti and security forces should stop `extra-constitutional methods’ used against the Baloch nationalist parties.
