KALAYA, May 27: Six militants were killed and two others injured in a gunfight with security forces in Gandi Tal area of Orakzai Agency on Sunday, official sources said.
They said the fighting started after militants attacked an army patrol from two sides. Troops backed by armoured personnel carriers repulsed the attack. Six militants were killed and two injured.
The official claim could not be verified from independent sources. The officials said that security personnel remained unhurt.
Troops also conducted a search operation in the area and seized arms and ammunition.
