LAHORE, May 26: Robbers shot dead a 30-year-old man and escaped empty-handed during a house robbery bid at Hanjarwal early on Saturday.

Police inquiries showed that four robbers entered the house of Abdul Majeed in Seth Ameen Park after midnight and roped him and his son who were asleep in the courtyard.

After seeing the outsiders, a woman raised an alarm which attracted Muhammad Rasheed and Arshad, Majeed’s two other sons, outside rooms. The robbers opened fire as a result of which Rasheed and Arshad were injured. They were taken to Jinnah Hospital where Rasheed, father of two, died. —Staff Reporter
