KHAR, May 26: The Levies Force on Saturday detained briefly a lady health visitor in the far-flung Barang tehsil of Bajaur Agency on charges of taking home edible items, provided to a local hospital by the World Food Programme.

The Levies officials said that they detained the health worker while she was carrying edible items in a car. “We got information that a lady health visitor was carrying food items from the hospital to her home.

When the car reached the checkpost, the food items were recovered form it. She was also arrested,” Subedar Sher Bahdar Khan, in-charge of Sali Pati checkpost, told Dawn. She was freed after two hours.—Correspondent
