LAHORE, May 23: The Defence of Pakistan Council (DPC) has decided to reschedule its long march from Karachi to Islamabad.
At a joint press conference here on Wednesday, council leaders said as the rulers under public pressure had not announced restoration of Nato supplies, so the long march was delayed to be used as an effective tool at the best suitable time.
The protest march was to start on May 27 from the mausoleum of the Quaid-i-Azam.
The DPC leaders said council elders would meet in Karachi on Saturday to chalk out the next strategy. Those who spoke at the press conference included Liaquat Baloch, Amir Hamza, Abdur Rauf Farooqi and Maulana Asim Makhdoom. — Staff Reporter
