MARDAN, May 22: A matrimonial dispute claimed life of one person in the Chakarupul area on the night between Monday and Tuesday, police said. The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Hoti police station.

The police preliminary investigation revealed that the victim identified as Wali Mohammad was hanged to death allegedly by his brother-in-laws. It said that the accused Inayat Ullah and his brother Sartaj hanged to death the victim after inviting him to their home for dinner on Monday evening.

It was stated that the accused were not happy over the deceased marrying their sister.

The police registered the case on the complaint of Lal Mohammad, brother of the victim, and arrested the accused Inayat and his brother Sartaj.

ROAD ACCIDENT: A constable was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a car on the Katlang road in the jurisdiction of Jabbar police station on Tuesday.

The constable identified as Abdul Hameed had been deployed at the Kalu Khan police station in Swabi district.

The slain cop, hailing from Mata Katlang area, was coming to Mardan city for some work when a car coming from the opposite side hit his bike on Katlang road killing him on the spot.The driver of the car fled the scene after the accident. The officials of Jabbar police station, however, took the car into their custody and started further investigation.
