LAHORE, May 16: A Special Branch constable died at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology few hours after he was injured during a clerks’ protest at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday.

Islampura police said Mushtaq, 47, of Gujranwala was initially taken to Mayo Hospital from where he was referred to PIC.

The police said two SB constables were injured in the stampede after protesting clerks forcibly entered the secretariat.

The other constable identified as Ameen was under treatment at Mayo Hospital.
