LAHORE, May 15: Governor Latif Khosa has said he can send ‘illegal’ Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif packing if he uses his constitutional power.

“Shahbaz Sharif is illegal and unconstitutional chief minister of Punjab. He cannot hold the office for a day if I use my constitutional power but the nation cannot afford any political turmoil at the moment,” he said while talking to a delegation of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society at the Governor’s House here on Tuesday.

Latif Khosa said the Sharif brothers should be afraid of the time when 40 million people would march on Jati Umra, Raiwind. He said the Sharifs could not lead a long or short march against the PPP government because of their track record. He said if the Supreme Court announced decision in the Mehran Bank scandal the politics of the Sharifs would come to an end.

Mr Khosa said the PPP leaders always respected the apex court while the Sharifs attacked it. He said without political stability economic stability could not be achieved. He said the PPP was doing politics of reconciliation for the sake of democracy.
