KARACHI, May 15: Prominent Pakistani-American artist Lubna Agha died on Sunday morning in Boston, US, according to reports reaching Karachi.

Born in Quetta in 1949, Lubna Latif, as she was known before she got married to art writer Yusuf Agha in 1974, completed her schooling in Karachi. She graduated from the Karachi School of Art in 1967.

Lubna Agha, who skilfully combined the Modern-Abstract style of the West with the motifs of Islamic art and architecture, as also calligraphy, created a niche for herself.

Lubna has left behind her husband, a daughter based in Boston and a son in San Francisco, as also three grandchildren.
