KARACHI: The Government of Sindh will distribute more state land among the landless peasants soon. This was stated by the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday.

He said that the present government is fully representing all the sections of our society and undertaking efforts to resolve the problems of labour, peasants, students, downtrodden people of country in the light of objectives of PPP framed by its founder Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The chief minister was presiding over a meeting regarding land grant policy with emphasis to grant of lease documents for landless peasants held at CM House here on Tuesday.

He said that previously every peasant was granted 16 acres land but at present keeping in view the condition, the government had decided to grant 25-acres land to landless peasants.

Qaim Ali Shah stated that programme of distribution of land among landless peasants particularly to women peasants, is a very important programme which will help generate income for families and increase the food products for national economy.

He said that under the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, assistance of Rs50,000 in provision of seed, fertilizer, water etc for development of four-acres has been provided to allottees.

The chief minister stressed upon deputy commissioners to pay full attention towards this task and see that previous land distribution work has been implemented properly.
