MINGORA, May 12: Kharlzada Kasrat Rai, who is on a peace journey,  was warmly received by people of Swat on Saturday on the 17th day of peace walk he started from Dera Ismail Khan.

Officials of district administration and students garlanded Mr Rai, as he entered the scenic Swat valley on his peace mission.

His walk has been arranged by Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Mr Rai crossed 12 district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to reach Swat on 17th day of the peace walk he had embarked on to show to the world that there was complete peace in Pakistan.

SDM Saiful Islam, DSP Barikot circle Khaisata Rehman, teachers and a large number of people received him at Landaki.

Talking to media persons, he said people of Swat had rendered sacrifices for peace and that he felt happiness to see peace restored in the valley.

He said that the aim of his walk was to show that Pakhtuns were a peace-loving nation.

“I invite tourists to come here and enjoy the natural beauty of Swat valley,” Mr Rai said and added tourists would feel fully secure here.

Later, he proceeded to the district headquarters Mingora in a rally.
