RAWALPINDI, May 7: A man’s body was found stuffed in a tin box lying under a roadside tree in Naseerabad area here on Monday.

The body was recovered after some passers-by informed the area police. Sub-inspector (SI) Ameer Gondal who is leading the investigation said they got information that a suspicious tin box had been lying abandoned along the road for the last few hours.

On opening it, they found the body of a man wrapped in a bed sheet. The deceased who seemed to be in his 50s was apparently strangulated and dumped inside the box, as no marks of injuries were found.

The victim was of middle stature and had dark complexion.

However, nothing else was found which could help police identify him.

“The man seems to have been murdered within last 24 hours as the body is fresh,” the SI said. It was later removed to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital for postmortem.
