LAHORE, May 4: Three more matches were decided in the second PHF U-21 Girls Hockey Championship at the National Hockey Stadium’s outer ground here on Friday, as Railways and Wapda confirmed their places in the final.

In the first match, Pakistan Board team stunned Sindh to record a 2-1 win.

The decisive goal was scored by Gulnaz Parveen in the 55th minute. Earlier, she also banged home a 38th minute goal. For Sindh, the goal came from Sadaf on a shot corner in the 10th minute.

Meanwhile, defending champions Wapda gave Balochistan a hockey lesson, inflicting a 10-0 loss on them. Wapda led the first half 7-0. Ambreen (4th, 22nd, 39th) was Wapda’s top scorer while Fakhra (12th, 20th), Shahida Raza (26th, 40th), Erum (16th), Sehrish (39th) and Sana Arshad (47th) were the other scorers.

In the day’s third match, Mayira Sabir registered a hat-trick to help Railways outgun Punjab Colours 6-2. Railways were 2-1 ahead at the breather and displayed more aggressive game in the second half.

Mayira made successful field tries in the 12th, 46th and 54th minutes. Marina Anwar (16th), Kulsoom Shahzadi (39th) and Aqsa Mumtaz (51st) were the other scorers for the winning side. For Punjab Colours, Kulsoom Munir (26th) and Sadia Akram (56th) reduced the margin.

On Saturday, Pakistan Board and Sindh play the 5th place match while Punjab Colours meet Punjab Whites in the third place game.

Wapda will face Railways in the final on Sunday.
