PESHAWAR, May 2: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday directed the Federal Investigation Agency to conduct an inquiry and trace out a Pakistani national, who has allegedly escaped from Kyrgyzstan and taken away his two sons from his Kyrgyz wife.

A bench of the high court comprising Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan and Justice Mian Fasihul Mulk rejected a report submitted by an official of Topi police station, Swabi wherein he stated that they had tried to search for the said person, Shaukat Ali, at his village but he could not be traced.

The bench was hearing a writ petition filed by a Kyrgyz woman, Temirova Nurzhanal Osmonalyevna, a resident of Bishkek.

She said that Shaukat Ali had illegally taken away her two sons and they might be harmed.

The bench observed that the police officials had not seriously pursued the matter. The court ordered that an inquiry should be conducted by the director FIA (immigration) to ascertain when Shaukat Ali had entered the country and whether he had left the country through any of the exit points.

Advocate Sheikh Riazul Haque appeared for the petitioner and contended that the woman had married the Pakistani national in Bishkek around six years ago. He added that out of the wedlock the couple had two sons.

The elder son Ahmad Ali was born in May 2006 whereas the other one, Mohammad Nabi, was born in Feb 2007.

Mr Haque said that relations of the couple got strained following which Shaukat Ali escaped to Pakistan in Jan 2011 and also took away the minor boys, who now aged about six and five years respectively.

He alleged that Shaukat was also wanted in several other cases as he had committed frauds there and the government there had also requested the Interpol to extend support for his arrest.
