LAHORE, May 2: Three women were murdered in different incidents across the city on Wednesday.

Chuhng police said Shafique shot at and killed his 45-year-old mother, Razia Rani, at their Sardar Town, Multan Road, residence.

Police said Shafique opened fire on her mother when she stopped him from quarreling with his brother over domestic issues. A three-year-old son of the accused was also injured in the firing.

The injured were rushed to Jinnah Hospital where the woman died.

Police later took Shafique into custody and started investigation.

Manawan police said Asif stabbed the mother of his lover to death at her home situated on Umer Khan Road.

The police said the suspect was reprimanded and thrashed by victim Barkat Bibi for dropping a love letter at her home on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Asif along with accomplices entered Barkat Bibi’s house and attacked her with a knife. The woman succumbed to her wounds in hospital.

Defence A police said Bilqees Bibi, 55, was found murdered in her house in J-Block of the Defence Housing Authority.

The victim’s sons, who were asleep on the roof, found her dead with multiple stab wounds in the morning.

The police registered a murder case against unidentified suspect(s) on the complaint of Col Muhammad Javed (retired), the victim’s brother.

An investigator said the police were suspecting that the killer might be one of the family members as they had found no signs of forced entry into the house.

BODY FOUND: Kahna police found the partially decomposed body of a man in his 30s from the canal near Hammad Garden Town on Wednesday and shifted it for autopsy.

SI Islam Akhtar said the man was not yet identified and it appeared that he was murdered at least 10 days ago. He said efforts were in progress to establish the identity and whereabouts of the victim.

SUICIDE: A married woman committed suicide in her parents’ house in Gawalmandi on Wednesday.

Police said Huma Ashraf, who was married to Sahzad Ahmad of Chah Abul Maal some six years ago, had shifted to her parents following a dispute with her husband.

On the day of the incident, she returned from a civil court, locked her in a room and committed suicide by hanging herself with a fan.

ACCIDENT: A constable, Saleem Rafiq, was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a pole in Harbanspura on Wednesday.

He was posted as naib court in the sessions court.
