ISLAMABAD, April 26: A peon of Inspector General of Police office committed suicide by shooting himself on Thursday, police said.

According to the sources, Raja Gulfraz shot himself at his chest with his 12-bore gun in his residence in I-10/4.

Hearing the gun shot, his family member rushed to him and found him lying in a pool of blood with the bullet injury. The victim was shifted to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the police, he had been in distress for the last many days due to some family problems.

Meanwhile, four persons snatched Rs2 million for a man at Jinnah Super Market.

The police said Mohammad Shakir withdrew the amount from a bank at Blue Area and left for Jinnah Super Market where he was intercepted by four persons riding on motorcycles. They held him at gunpoint and snatched the amount from him. However, they managed to escape from the scene.

Later, the victim approached the Kohsar police and lodged a report.
