SANGHAR, Nov 19: Police arrested three men — Hiro, Pehlaj and Teekam — in a raid on the Sanghar-Nawabshah road in the wee hours of Monday.

The police was searching for the fourth, Laxman, who was still at large.

All four were nominated in the double murder case of Arjun Jandawro and his 16-year-old son, Bhagwano, at Makrani Para, Shahpurchakar.

On Monday, a large number of women and children blocked the Sanghar-Nawabshah road in protest against Laxman not being arrested. The DSP, Shahdapur, assured them that Laxman would be arrested soon.

LIQUOR SEIZED: Police raided Gul Laghari village and seized several pitchers of locally-prepared liquor and also arrested an accused for running an illegal brewery.

The name of the man arrested could not be ascertained.

ONE KILLED: One person was killed when he offered resistance against motorcycle snatching the other day on Jamrao head road in the jurisdiction of Mangli police station.

Deceased Malik Fazal Hussain was coming back to his home in Chak No.1 on a newly purchased motorcycle after visiting his agricultural lands.

When he was about one kilometre away from the village, two unidentified persons signalled him to stop. As he stopped, the robbers tried to take away his motorcycle.

On his resistance they fired on him killing him on the spot.

The jittery robbers fled leaving the motorcycle behind them.

ASI: Suspended ASI police landed in district jail for beating his wife and mother.

The police official Khan Mohammad, who was suspended some two months ago, used to take money from his school-teacher wife.

The other night while reportedly in intoxicated condition he demanded money from his wife.

On her refusal, he beat her up and also his mother who tried to intervene.

The Mangli police arrested the man and sent him to the district jail.
