KARACHI: Cop shoots man to death

KARACHI, Dec 9: A policeman shot a man to death in Railway Colony on Monday night.

Ghulam Haider, a constable of the Sindh Reserve Police, posted at Mithadar police station, was on his way from his Railway Colony residence to resume his night duty. In Railway Colony when he saw Shar Dullah Khan, he opened fire on him.

“In order to make it look like an encounter, the constable went up to Shar Dullah Khan’s body, took out his pistol and fired a few shots in the air,” a senior police officer said.

“The area people confirmed the incident and said that the policeman acted in cold blood,” police said.

The policeman was arrested and booked for murder.

Dullah Khan’s body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.

Police also confirmed the criminal record of the dead man who was carrying an unlicensed pistol.
