PESHAWAR, Dec 9: Six persons were killed while 10 injured in four separate incidents in the city suburbs during the last 72 hours.

Official sources here said that three persons were killed when a passenger Toyota pickup fell into a ravine on Kohat Road near Toor Chappar on Sunday.

The overcrowded pickup was coming from Darra Adamkhel to Peshawar. When it reached near Toor Chappar, the driver lost control of the vehicle owing to over speeding, and it fell into the ravine.

As a result three passenger— Adnan, son of Wazirzada; Samad, son of Mohammad Rasool, and Arif, son of Banaras— died on the spot. While nine others who received injured were rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital.

One of the injured was identified as Sadeeq Rahman, son of Khaista Rehman, while names of the other could not be ascertained.

In another incident, as reported by Qasim Jan, son of Said Rehman, to Faqirabad police station, he was going with his father to see their relatives in Ghari Baloch on Saturday. All of a sudden the locals started aerial firing in jubilation to celebrate Eid.

As a result, a stray bullet hit Said Rehman killing him instantly while Qasim Jan also received a bullet injury.

In the third incident, Adnan, son of Mohib Khan, resident of Sofaid Dhari, was allegedly killed by his brother on Ring Road here on Saturday.

The Pishtakhara police claimed that Adnan was going on his motorbike on Ring Road when a car chased Adnan and occupants of the four-wheeler fired on him from the back killing him on the spot.

Though the police reportedly tried to chase the car, they failed to arrest the killers. Later on, the vehicle was found abandoned along a road near the Khwar area.

The police claimed that the car belonged to the father-in-law of Adnan, which was being driven by the brother of victim, Shahid.

A local, Rasool Shah, also has reported to the Chamkani police station that his father went to graze buffaloes in the Azakhel locality here on Saturday. When he got late, the son went to look for him and found the father shot dead by unknown persons.
