KARAK, April 4: The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), Karak chapter, on Wednesday observed a hunger strike against government failure to implement the recommendations of the Pay and Pension Commission regarding new service structure.

They decided to participate enthusiastically in the clerks protest scheduled to be held on April 25 outside the parliament house in Islamabad.

The hunger strike camp was organised at Tehsil chowk. The association’s president Malik Iftikhar Ahmad Khattak led the protest, also attended by people of all walks of life to show solidarity with the low-paid employees.

Addressing the strikers Malik Iftikhar demanded new service structure along with timescale for his community. He stated categorically that service structure without timescale was not acceptable to them. —Correspondent
