LAHORE, Dec 5: Governor Khalid Maqbool will offer Eidul Fitr prayers at the historic Badshahi Mosque.

A spokesman said on Thursday after the prayers he would meet civil officers at the Governor’s House at 10:30am. Later, he would visit Children’s Hospital and distribute gifts among the under treatment children. He would also visit Gulab Devi Hospital in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, in his Eid message the governor has congratulated the people on the culmination of Ramazan.

He said Eid was a day of thanksgiving and people should, therefore, pray for the glory of Islam, prosperity and progress of the country, and unity among Muslims. They must also thank God for allowing them to learn tolerance, self-control and the spirit of service to others through fasting in Ramazan.

He said while observing Eid people must also take care of those who did not have means to celebrate the festival. “We must resolve on Eid that being Muslims we would not develop extremism and injustice behaviour,” he concluded.
