KARACHI:  Expressing serious concerns over a sharp increase in the incidents of crime and terrorism in Karachi, Chief Justice Sindh High Court on Saturday took suo moto notice of the situation, DawnNews reported.

The Chief Justice Sindh High Court Musheer Alam summoned investigative reports from Director General (DG) Rangers and Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police pertaining to the deteriorating peace in the city.

The violent incidents in Karachi have taken lives of at least 14 people since yesterday.

Karachi, the financial capital of Pakistan, faced huge amounts of financial losses as a result of complete shut down of the businesses after recent episode of violence.

The latest tension in the city was sparked by the murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker and his brother on Tuesday.
