KHAR, March 29: Sports help develop the spirit of healthy competition among youth and give them a lesson of tolerance, said Political Agent of Bajaur Agency Islam Zeb on Wednesday.

“By involving young generation in sports, we will ensure a secure future for them and peace and development in Tribal Areas,” the political agent told the concluding ceremony of Bajaur Peace Sports Festival here at Agency Headquarters Sports Complex.

Mr Zeb said participation in sports developed cooperation, endurance and physical fitness among youth and taught them discipline, unity and consistency. He asked youth to continue working hard for contributing to national development.

The political agent said the government would provide all-out facilities to youth to promote sports in Bajaur Agency. He later announced cash prizes for outstanding players of the 10-day long event, which ended with a call for peace in Bajaur and other parts of Fata.

He also distributed prizes, certificates and trophies among winners and runners-up.
