ISLAMABAD, March 28: Two persons, including a local officer of German embassy, were found dead in Rawal Dam on Wednesday, police said.

The incident came to light when some passerby spotted the bodies floating in the dam. The police were informed who arrived at the spot and fished them out.

The bodies were identified as that of F.A.A., 22, a resident of Saidpur and Ashram Ali, a resident of Akalgarh Rawalpindi.

F.A.A. worked in the visa section of the German embassy. According to the autopsy, he had been strangled after torture three to five days ago.

F.A.A. had gone missing on March 22, and after his motorcycle was found abandoned in the parking area of Rawal Dam, Aabpara police registered a kidnapping case.

During investigation, it was found from F.A.A.’s mobile data that he had last visited Melody Market.

The police interrogated one of the shopkeepers of a medical store at the market who informed them that the victim visited the store on March 22 to purchase a medicine used for abortion.

The shopkeeper said the victim had said that he was purchasing the medicine for the girlfriend of his friend. However, further investigations revealed that the victim himself had a girlfriend living in Bhara Kahu and suspected that he was purchasing the medicine for her.

Aabpara police raided the house of the girl but found the door locked for outside.

Police believe that the family of the girl had left the house after killing F.A.A. for honour.

The other victim, Ashram Ali, had also been missing for the last couple of days.

Quoting his father, the police said Ashram Ali had asked money from his mother to give treat to his friends. After getting the money he left the house but never returned.

His father suspected that he committed suicide as his mental condition was not stable.

According to autopsy report, the body showed signs of drowning.

The body seemed to be three days old.

Ashram Ali’s father denied any relation with F.A.A., whose body was also found a kilometre away from Ali’s.

Ali had a well-established business in Malaysia two years ago. But he returned to Pakistan when his mental condition deteriorated after suffering head injuries.
