LAHORE, March 26: Three men were nabbed while operating an illegal rickshaw stand outside the Lahore railway station on Monday.

On complaints that some men had set up an illegal parking lot for rickshaws near the station, the Railways police inspector-general directed the Lahore SSP to take action.

The SSP constituted a party headed by the Railway Traffic Police in charge which raided the spot and caught Asghar Ali, Saeed Ahmad and Muhammad Asghar for collecting Rs10 parking fee from every rickshaw driver.

The three were handed over to PR police which booked them under sections 384 and 420 of the PPC.

Meanwhile, a railway employee was arrested for stealing engine leads from Mughalpura Workshops.

Mumtaz was intercepted by the railway police staff deputed at the gate of the Loco Shop and during a body search engine leads were recovered from him.

An FIR has been registered against him with Mughalpura Workshops police.
