NAWABSHAH, March 26: Nursing staff boycotted work at the People’s University Medical Hospital and held a demonstration here on Monday, demanding raise in salary.

The nurses also took out a procession, which started from the hospital and ended at the press club.

The protesters led by Ayesha Zafar and Noor Bano said the rules governing nurses’ issues were different in Sindh from those of other provinces. Nurses received very low salary as compared to that of their colleagues in other provinces, they said.

The protesters tired to go to the Shaheen Vocational Training Institute to meet the chief minister but they were stopped by police.—Correspondent
