When Pakistan won that famous 1992 World Cup, i was in Abu Dhabi (UAE). I still remember those moments especially the semi final and the final and proud to see that moments again in the near future.
I think, Pakistan can win the next world cup which is in Australia which is the same where we won this coveted trophy for the first time.
I believe, we have the talent, ability, unity and sportsman spirit. Only we should understand, how to execute our abilities which is only came by practice and hardword.

While the excitement was increasing by every passing seconds, I was standing in the queue to obtain Umra Visa from KSA's consulate in Dubai, for my late Mother and myself. I could see, every Pakistani standing in the queue was asking from each other, what's the status now. By the time I obtained the visa, I rushed to home to watch the live and was quite fortunate to experience the last over, and the rest is the glorious history, we all cherished. Let us pray all to Allah Subhanwa Tallah to shower more such glorious victories for the years to come for our DEAREST Pakistan. Ameen-Suma-Ameen

I was in Karachi at that time. At that time I was 9 years old and not very passionate about cricket, in fact I wasn't even aware of the seriousness of that moment and what Pakistan can achieve. I remember our whole living room packed with relatives and family friends cheering on and on with each passing delivery, and commenting on the beauty of that crystal trophy to be awarded to the winning side. Later on I obviously became fimiliar with the enormity of that moment and InshALLAH Pakistani cricket team will repeat history again.

I just remember laughing my head off when I read the morning headlines from Imran Khan after losing all the matches that "We still have chance of cup". His team never gave up hope. I don't care much about cricket but that Ramadan day I remember very vividly.

I was 7 years old then. I used to play cricket with a small size bat and always requested my dad to buy me original size bat but he always turned down by saying get good grades in the final exams, then i will buy you on.
And that day, Pakistan won and my father out of sheer happiness, bought me one :)

That day will never come until and unless you bring the same team as it was in 1992 (to play without match fixing) as well as to remove the existing corrupt management and replace with the same as in 1992 and on top of all until Shahid Afridi is in the team.

Those were the most memorable days. I was in India and it was ramadan time and we all were supporting since india was already out of the tournament. There was huge fan following of Imran khan and everyone wanted pakistan to win this cup. I still remember semi final, i was in 6th standard and i lost hope when wickets were falling. I left for some grocery shopping and i asked the shop keeper who was listening to commentary on radio that what are the chances, he said " EK NAYA LARHKA HAI INZIMAM< BOHOT ACHA KHEL RAHA HAI", i ran back to my home and started watching and finally pakistan won. On final day, we had a iftar party and house was packed with people backing pakistan and when they won it was huge joy for every one.

I was 15 yrs old. Just started playing relatively serious cricket in Islamabad. I remember waking up at 2:30am for the matches being played in New Zealand without an alarm clock. Creeping up the stairs to the tv lounge and putting on our ancient tv set to watch the ptv coverage. It was tough staying quite when Aqib got Greatbatch in the semi, since everyone else in the house was asleep:). But the day of the final was surreal. The entire household sitting in front of the tv set, passing comments, the ooh and aahs. The cook chipping in with his comments just as much as anyone else. That t-shirt on Imran at the toss. The frustration of watching Pak crawl in the first half of their innings and the excitement of Inzi and Akram pushing the scoring rate. The excitement at watching the 'evil' Botham get out very early. Feeling the pain in Imran's shoulder as he bowled as if it was our collective shoulders working for him. Mushy's setup and googley to get rid of Hick and Aqib's catch off Gooch. It was our cup, but still anything could happen, its cricket! And then 'those' two balls from Akram to seal the match. The total and absolute shock of seeing someone with the ability to bowl as if the ball was being asked to deviate and it obeyed with an obediance not known in the real world. One final signature leap from Imran at the point of delivery, one long haried Ramiz clutching the ball as it came down from Illingworth's bat and one Amir Sohail on the ground in sajda. That hug from Miandad to Imran and that speech from Imran while holding a trophy made of Waterford crystal. Hiding tears of joy while people screamed and shouted all around. It was as if the universe made sense all of a sudden. Leaving the house to go to an overcrowded mithai shop and going house to house with my father to the relatives with the mithai. It was 'just' a cricket match at the end of the day, but that day everything was good and everything made sense. The smile and tears return with the same glory even today!

Pakistan is finalist of First T20 WC (lost narrowly), Winner of Second T20 WC, Semi Finalist of Third T20 WC (lost narrowly) , Semi Finalist of 50 Over WC and current Asian Champion. Its not right to say that Pak is not good enough for big tournaments and can only play on subcontinent wickets like India ...

To have any chanc of winning again during our generation, Pakistan team MUST start preparing for the world cup in 2015. This means, dropping older players like Misbah, Afridi, Younis from ODI format and grooming young talent like Ahmed Shehzad, Hammad Azam, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq strarting from NOW!

It was Ramadan and I was working in Islamabad living alone. A Color TV was rented and all friends gathered in a flat at Sector I 9 /4. My residence was in G-10/3 and after Sehri I overslept, woke-up and it was drizzling with little cold weather and was fun to ride a Motorbyce. It was the only time that I was sure Pakistan will win the title.

I was in 12th grade at that time and Prime Sports in addition to PTV were telecasting live matches. And because of ramzan, sehri was supposedly done while watching the game, even my late father use to take a quick glimpse at the TV while offering prayers on the mat. Sunil Gavaskar was the studio expert at Prime Sports and gave very favoring comments for the Pakistani team and prophesied even before the finals that the cornered tigers are going to take the cup...... The world is coming down, the flags are up.....who's gonna be number one, whose gonna take up the cup.........gotta see who rule the world - this was supposedly the theme song and was a hit at that time. When Ramiz Raja caught the last man, the whole neighborhood shouted and yelled and after a while everyone came out on the streets. Everyone was jubilant and happy and was hugging each other like eid day. I remember that at the 9'o clock news - the famous PTV Khabarnama - the news of winning the worldcup was the top headline, even the newscaster was happy and proud to read the news...those nostalgic moments are truly memorable.....wow!

I was heading home from office in London underground train and just before train was due to stop at my station, the train driver made a public announcement saying " ladies and gentleman, those of you interested in cricket, the news is that Pakistan has won the 1992 world cup," I came out of the compartment, waved at the driver and ran towards his compartment and shook his hand saying "Thanks for the great news, you made my day".

Since India was out everyone here was rooting for Pak to win as we did not want the cup to go to the overconfident Gooch & Botham and party. It was a dream win, not to forget Imran who had a massive fan following in the sub continent..
