ISLAMABAD, March 23: A teenager was gunned down in front of his house when he was going to police station to report an attack on him and his mother in capital's rural area on Friday, police said.

The incident took place in Alipur village in Kural area when the victim, Osama Ali 17, was going to taxi stand to hire a cab for the police station to get a case registered against the rivals who attacked and injured them the night before.

Three persons armed with weapons intercepted him and started thrashing him. Later one of them fired a bullet near his navel.

As a result, he fell on the ground and started bleeding. The attackers remained there for about half an hour and during the period continued firing in the air. Later, they escaped from the scene and people shifted the injured to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. According to police the families had an old rivalry over land.
