Two of a family die in road accident

GUJAR KHAN, Dec 4: Two members of a family were killed and six others sustained serious injuries when their car skidding off the GT road and fell into a deep ravine, some 10km east of Gujar Khan city, on Wednesday morning, the police sources said.

The Sohawa police told this reporter that a family residing in Iqbal Town, Lahore, was heading towards Islamabad airport to receive one of their family members who was due from Saudi Arabia after performing Ummrah.

At about 7.30am as their car (LOE-6478) approached Pind Mateh Khan it went out of the control of the driver and fell into a 60 feet ravine.

Ms Farrah Hamid and Shahid Hamid died on the spot and other five family members, including three minor girls, received serious injuries.

The injured were identified as Tahir Hamid, Seema, Sidra Tahir,10, Kainat Tahir, 6, Aroosa Tahir, 2, and their maid servant Surraya.

They were admitted to THQ Hospital Sohawa and Gujar Khan where they were stated to be in serious condition.
