KARACHI, March 22: Port Qasim Authority (PQA), Pakistan Navy qualified for the quarter-finals of the 18th Hinopak Trophy KCCA Inter-department Cricket League after winning their respective matches here on Thursday.

PQA defeated A.J. Worldwide by 66 runs at the RLCA Ground in Gulberg to finish unbeaten in Group ‘E’. The highlights of the game being the batting of ex-internationals Asim Kamal (71) and Shahzaib Hasan (50) for the winning side.

Navy had to work hard to beat RTO Income Tax by 13 runs at the RLCA Ground (UP) to become Group ‘B’ winners on net run-rate.

Meanwhile, New Ittefaq Traders and Omar Associates reached the last-16 stage of the competition despite losing on Thursday.

New Ittefaq Traders lost to Master Oils by three wickets at the TMC Ground but finished second spot in Group ‘C’.

Likewise, Omar Associates ended up in second place in Group ‘E’ after losing against Lahore Mills Store by six wickets at Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground.
